Date: February 28, 2021

Time: 7:00-9:00 pm CST

Location: Zoom Link TBA

The Chicago Aquatic Plant Society is pleased to host Jennifer Williams, who will give a presentation titled, ” Aquascaping for Non-Professional Aquascapers: A Beginners Course”. The Zoom link to the meeting will be posted closer to the event.

Jen started her first aquarium at the young age of seven that housed a humble mix of fish. As an adult, she discovered the much bigger world of fishkeeping via a most fateful encounter – a Craigslist ad she placed which introduced her to a former Army Lieutenant who opened her eyes to the world of local fish clubs, planted tanks, and full-fledged aquaphilia. Currently, she keeps and breeds an assortment of fish and competes in aquascaping competitions both live and virtual.

She has won multiple awards in competitions at Aquafest, Aquamania, the Big Fish Deal, and The Aquatic Experience. She has also competed in the International Aquatic Plant Layout Contest with her highest international ranking of #224. She has served on the board of the Greater Washington Aquatic Plant Association for many years in addition to serving as a board member of the Aquatic Gardeners Association.

Jen enjoys traveling to visit clubs nationwide to give presentations, aquascaping demos, inspiration, and encouragement to future scapers.

As part of this event, CAPS will be raffling off two gift cards from Windy City Aquariums. If you would like to participate in the raffle, please visit our Facebook group.

Stay tuned for more details and we look forward to seeing everyone online!
